IHE presents at World Cancer Congress

At the 2026 World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong, Thomas Hofmarcher joined the session “Strengthening health systems and policy for women’s cancers in Asia–Pacific and across the globe: evidence, access and innovation”. Thomas gave an overview of five reports focusing on women’s cancers that IHE has released over the past year.

Apart from discussing general challenges and solutions to improving women’s cancer care, Thomas recounted a few examples from Hong Kong and Singapore where recent policy changes in the areas of HPV vaccination, screening policy, fertility preservation, and hereditary genetic testing have been made. This contrasts with the case of Taiwan where no recent policy changes have been made to improve endometrial cancer care.
