New Cancer Dashboard for Slovenia
Cancer is the leading cause of death in Slovenia, placing a significant and growing burden on patients, families, and the healthcare system. While Slovenia has made notable strides — with cancer mortality declining steadily over two decades and five-year survival reaching 61% — challenges remain in prevention, data infrastructure, workforce capacity, and equitable access to care.
This dashboard presents a comprehensive, data-driven overview of cancer care in Slovenia across the full care pathway, from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Benchmarked against EU peers and national targets, it offers evidence-based recommendations to support decision-makers, reinforce the implementation of the national cancer control plan (DPOR), and help translate political commitment into meaningful, measurable action for patients.
The report was launched at the UKC Maribor, Slovenia, on May 8,2026.
