New IHE-report about HPV and cervical cancer elimination in Romania

Despite having one of the highest cervical cancer burdens in the EU, Romania has shown real momentum for change. Recent legislative progress on HPV vaccination, together with the adoption of a national screening methodology aligned with EU recommendations, signals a strong and growing political commitment.

This new IHE-report presents a clear, evidence-based roadmap to support Romania’s efforts to move forward toward cervical cancer elimination and to reduce the broader burden of HPV-related cancers across the population.
