IHE presents at ISPAD 2025 in Montreal Canada

Last week, joint work by DiaUnion, Sanofi, and IHE was presented at the ISPAD 2025 Conference in Montreal, Canada. The study focused on the development of a decision-analytic model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of screening for Type 1 Diabetes, Celiac Disease, and Autoimmune Thyroid Disease in children.

The model explores the synergistic impact of combined screening for these three autoimmune diseases and provides a flexible framework to assess screening strategies across healthcare settings — identifying key cost-effectiveness drivers.

The IHE Diabetes Cohort Model for Type 1 Diabetes (IHE-DCM-T1) was used to simulate the long-term development of Type 1 Diabetes complications and the potential benefits of delaying disease onset.
