IHE presents for Aspen Institute Romania

In April 2024, IHE’s Thomas Hofmarcher traveled to a conference with leading local health policy experts in Romania arranged by the Aspen Institute Romania. Thomas presented and discussed different examples to increase efficiency in cancer care, drawing on IHE’s vast research in this field.

Increasing efficiency in healthcare is paramount to ensure good use of constrained healthcare resources/budgets. However, increasing efficiency does not necessarily mean “cost containment and budget cuts”. Innovations can help to use existing resources more effectively. In addition, a value-based view on healthcare helps to include health outcomes and economic consequences outside the health care system.
