New Cancer Dashboard for Denmark
Cancer Dashboard for Denmark – Lung cancer
How does lung cancer care in Denmark compare to Sweden and Norway? And how big are the regional differences within Denmark? This dashboard-style report provides a visual and quantitative description of selected performance indicators in all areas of lung cancer care. The analysis is based on data from the Danish Lung Cancer Registry and international databases.
Denmark has a high burden of lung cancer due to smoking being and having been more widespread, but survival rates have improved greatly. Preventive measures are still the most important lever, as 86% of diagnoses are made in current or former smokers, but screening tested in Southern Denmark shows promising results. Diagnosis and treatment work well, with room for improvement in access to innovative therapies. Regional differences in care and outcomes are noticeable and persistent, especially between the capital region and Zealand.
