Country Cancer Profile 2025 – Sweden

This country cancer profile for Sweden, which was developed by the OECD together with IHE, sheds light on cancer and the cancer care system in Sweden in relation to EU-countries.

The report consists of four main chapter och provides a review of (1) the disease burden of cancer, (2) risk factors and prevention policies, (3) early detection including screening, (4) cancer care performance with a focus on accessibility, quality, costs and quality of life.

The report compares key factors within the cancer field in Sweden with EU countries and highlights areas where Sweden is at the forefront as well as areas with potential for development.
