IHE presents at the Croatian Oncology Congress

Croatia has the second highest cancer incidence rate and the highest cancer mortality rate in the EU. Although survival rates have increased for several cancer types in the 2010s, the country lags behind other EU countries. In the opening session of the 18th Croatian Oncology Congress, IHE’s Thomas Hofmarcher presented on the cancer situation in Croatia in a European context. Afterwards, he discussed with Prof. Eduard Vrdoljak and Prof. Stjepko Pleština how Croatia can improve its performance by focusing on a better strategy, investment and technology.
