Clinical Impression of Severity Index for Parkinson’s Disease and its association to Health-Related Quality of Life

Norlin JM, Kellerborg K, Persson U, Åström DO, Hagell P, Martinez-Martin P, Odin P

Clinical Impression of Severity Index for Parkinson’s Disease (CISI-PD) is a simple tool that can easily be used in clinical practice.

A new study co-authored by IHE:s Jenny Norlin, Klas Kellerborg, and Ulf Persson, investigates the relationship between CISI-PD and Health-Related Quality of Life (EQ-5D-5L and PDQ-8) based on data from the Swedish register for Parkinson’s disease. CISI-PD correlated moderately with EQ-5D, but was limited in capturing non-motor symptoms of the disease.

The authors conclude that the CISI-PD could be useful for defining health states in health economic models and to serve as outcomes in future managed entry agreements in new technologies in Parkinson’s disease.
