IHE at World Health Assembly side event

On the sidelines of the 77th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization in Geneva, IHE participated in the event “Uniting Voices for Action on Women Cancer in the Eastern Mediterranean Region”. This event, organized by the Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance, brought together representatives from Ministries of Health, civil society organizations, health care professionals, private sector representatives, and media.

The purpose of the event was to catalyze efforts around women’s cancers in the region and galvanize political commitment in ensuring women’s cancer remains a central focus on the agenda of the upcoming UN High-Level Meeting on non-communicable diseases in 2025.

IHE’s Thomas Hofmarcher and Andrea Manzano shared and discussed research results from our recent IHE Report 2024:6 “Improving breast cancer care in the Middle East and Africa”.
