Beating Cancer Inequalities in the EU: Spotlight on Cancer Prevention and Early Detection

This report by the OECD, with contribution from IHE, sheds light on cancer care systems in Europe. The report consists of four main chapter och provides a review of (1) the disease burden of cancer, (2) prevention, (3) early detection including screening, (4) challenges with the sustainability of cancer systems with a focus on workforce, medicines, and radiation therapy.

The report focuses especially on inequalities between European countries and partly also inequalities within countries. The OECD report can be seen as a complement to IHE Report 2024:1 which contains a deeper analysis of different dimensions of inequalities and their reasons in EU countries.
