Stepien Magdalena

Magdalena is a cancer policy specialist and cancer epidemiologist with a background in nutritional sciences. She has previously worked at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (EC-JRC) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC-WHO).

During her time at the EC-JRC, she led the development and management of two flagship initiatives under Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan: the Knowledge Centre on Cancer and the European Cancer Inequalities Registry. At IARC-WHO, she led multiple projects investigating risk factors and predictive biomarkers for digestive cancers. At IHE, she supports cancer policy work, contributing her broad expertise and academic background in public health.
